Thank you for your interest in The Royle at Darien, located at 719 Post Road in Darien, CT. The Royle is an independent living community for adults aged 55 and older and is a smoke-free residential property.

Currently, we are only accepting applications for our 1- and 2-bedroom units under the 60% Area Median Income (AMI) tier. All other waiting list tiers are currently closed.

Please refer to the 2025 income chart at the bottom of the pre-application for the minimum and maximum income limits based on household size for the 60% AMI tier. Applicants who do not meet the income requirements will be disqualified. Incomplete pre-applications will also be disqualified. Please also note that rent does not include utilities.

If you are interested in applying to reside at The Royle, please complete the enclosed preliminary application. This is not a formal application. The formal application process will require detailed documentation and third-party verification of income, assets, household composition, and other eligibility factors. Submission of the preliminary application does not guarantee housing or approval.

  • I understand that this document is a Preliminary Application for The Royle at Darien. Furthermore, I acknowledge that if I am selected for an apartment, I will be required to submit a formal application, which will include verification of household composition, income, and assets, as well as consent to a criminal background check, credit check, and prior landlord verification. I understand that the results of these verifications may disqualify me from consideration for tenancy. Additionally, I acknowledge smoking is prohibited in any apartment or building at The Royle at Darien.
